WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING A GOOD LAPTOP FOR WORK?
HOW TO CHOOSE A GOOD LAPTOP WHEN BUYING.

Choosing a good laptop that will serve you for the purpose you bought it has never been easier as many people are blinded by;
- ·
Beauty
- ·
Slimness or thickness.
- ·
Screen glittering or shinning.
- ·
Presence or absence of some
components like DVD rom.
In my professional opinion I
would advise you to consider them, YES, but just for the purpose of your own
amusement and general beauty when in public, but when it comes to the real purpose of why you are buying the
computer these below would be the right points to consider and for the following
reasons.
The processor type, speed and generation.
Processors today are made in generations meaning a higher generation has a difference in technology compared to its lower generation version. Take an example of Intel i5 – 5th generation processor made in 2010 when the version of adobe illustrator then was "Adobe cc lite", if you bought that same machine today 2020 and your intension is to run the new adobe "After effects", you might find the system slowing down as you work.
So it might be safer for you to consider buying an i5 of a higher generation like 8th or more as technology changes and you need to be updated too. Incase you don’t know how to tell which generation your computers is, follow the illustrations below.
- . Locate your “THIS PC” in windows 10.
- . Right click on it and click on “properties”.
- . In the second section of properties you will see “processor”
- In the image below with a red arrow pointing down you will see that I have [i3-4005U]. The [4005U] represents the generation of my processor and in this case what I have is 4 meaning 4th generation CPU or processor.
In the properties section always look out for the maximum and minimum processing speeds designated for the processor, from the picture above mine [1.7GHz 1.7GHz], this is NOT good at all as this laptop will always crush when more expansion is needed to carry out multiple actions simultaneously. You need a processor which differentiates Min and Max thresholds. Like this [1.7GHz 2.1GHz] or more, this means that at maximum work load the CPU can increase its performance instead of freezing, blacking out and then restarting.
I would advise you to look into the amount of RAM and hard drive space BUT you really don’t have too because these are plug and play hardware accessories that can be changed to your preference anytime. So this should NOT bather you at all as you can always upgrade later.
Thickness of the base/CPU section of the laptop.
Please and please!!, always confirm that the laptop has a FUN and it’s blowing very well before you buy, this is really important as funless laptops are always WEAK and can’t handle large workloads for long hours due to high temperatures affecting the efficiency of the system.

Always make sure the processor is x64 bit compatible as this will be in
position to work well with different software and to run most versions of
windows properly. You can find this option under the RAM description in the “properties
section”.
After all that then you can look into the screen size depending on the
programs you intend to run on this computer for your business or studies, for example photo and video editing might need a bigger screen which typing doesn't.
To confirm whether the laptop you are about to buy is original or fake is so easy, always have this at the back of your mind “ALL THAT GLITERS IS NOT GOLD”.
I really hope these guidelines
help you as much as they have helped me, share in the comments if you like and
share new opinions too.
