Hello friends, I am here again concerned about this question that most of my clients and friends always ask me when they come to my business premises,
All these questions are relevant and surely need consideration so here I am to share my honest opinion with the rest of the world. Personally I've been in the computer business for 9 years now and I happen to be the founder, C.E.O and managing director of "One Time Technologies Limited" our website below for more. My experiance as a high school drop out is really fun and encouraging so I will start with "NO" you don't need school to start a computer business, all it needs is "Creativity" and "Courage".
As we all know most youth today me inclusive have earned a living and a very good life just fixing computers and nothing else. The coolest thing about this is that you set your own prices and only use your brain to fix, nothing else. It is very easy to make a living even if you never went to school to study repair or software. Most people have tried You-Tube for free and become masters, myself inclusive.

These two have jobs they share and have sections where they really have to draw lines in order to stay professional both to them selves and to the public for easy identity and trust in that sector. Never mix milk and juice together as milk will die and obviously you can't drink the mixture so it's a loose-loose situation.This will make sense shortly.

Personally I am a hardware repair technician and I have spacialized in this for 9 years now and life just gets sweeter every day because poeple get to realize my expertise and treate me like a king in that sector. This increases my earnings, reputation and makes me a very expensive technician, so it's my advise to you all, first realize who you really are and where your passion falls.The rest is art and patience in business and you will be just fine.

After realizing who you really are of the two mentioned above, then go to the different websites, blogs and You-Tube channels and gather knowledge wisely. NOTE ! Always have a notebook with you if you're a starter to make sure you keep key points noted.
Whichever browser you use for your research, look for the bookmark section and "bookmark" all your favourite webpages so that you always come back easily to remind yourself.

If you are really serious and you need this to work out, I give you a period of three months to start speaking the computer language, from this priod do not start the business setup yet, but make sure you start looking for the already existing computer technicians in your area regaurdless of whether they are "software" or "hardware" technicians.
This will help you get exposure and connections. Try to be friends first by supporting their businesses moslty buying simple stuff from them and later on having long chats with them, this will expand your understanding in both the IT knowledge and the general way how a business is run. If you choose to be a hardware repair technician make sure you gain some simple knowledge about the tools and how to use them, after you gain the experiance then gather some software knowledge too and vice versa.
If possible you can start trading accessories among them so that they can mark you as a prominent sales person. This will give you a quick push on start as these will always refer to you and always help you in your earlier stages.

- A GOOD PUBLIC SPEAKER.

After you master your chosen sector, mastering and specializing in it, try to be good at others now becauese the name you built in thesector you specialized in will now start speaking for you and it self in different parts of your base area.
After a period of 5 or 6 months you can now officially hit the road and start your OWN shop and always refer to your superiors (those you found aready prominent in the game) but do not rely on them so much, try handling problems your self and the internet first before seeking external AID.
NEVER open a client's PC before them in your primary stages of repair because many mistakes happen here since you are not used to the different types and models of laptops yet. Today manufacturers make complex designs and shapes. So your shop should have a small "TECHNICIAN ONLY" section enclosing you and your mistakes away from the clients.

Avoid friends who come around your shop to CHAT or to talk to you for long hours as this will kill your babby business before it matures, people don't like a talkative technician as their interpretation will be "PRIDE", "ARROGANCE" or "INCOMPITENCE". This will be a very bad start and a very quick fail.
Learn to advertise your business both online and offline, by this I mean all your first earnings should be directed towards this, all good and young businesses servive through this means, therefor good work plus good advertisement should make you really out standing in this budiness in a short time.
