HOW TO REMOVE A PROGRAM PERMANENTLY FROM YOUR COMPUTER?

You thought you knew how to do it? Well, am sorry to disappoint you. All along you’ve been doing it the wrong way.

Most people delete the program’s icon from the desktop and think they’ve gotten rid of it.
Others go to control panel and really feel happy to have removed it.

But the truth is programs leave residues or junk files in the system which help them pick up from where they left off when you re-install them into the same computer.
In the due process these tend to affect the computer’s performance as these are consuming space and affecting operation.

From today on you’re going to be the master of your own destiny as I unveil the secret to permanently uninstalling and getting rid of a program from your system for good, to the extent that when re-installed the system won't remember it to have been there before.

STEP 1. UNINSTALLING FROM CONTROL PANNEL.

To access the control panel all you have to do is go to the search bar found on the left hand side of the task bar in windows 10.
In the search bar type in “control panel” and in the pull up menu click on the word “control panel” to open it. Now that we have our control panel let’s go on.
  • In the control panel look for “programs” > “Uninstall a program”.
  • Identify that specific program you want to get rid of and click on it to highlight.
  • On the to menu as shown above click on “uninstall” and let the system do the job for you.
  • Some programs will ask you to restart the computer in order to completely close any active sessions of it and to clean its directory, so restart if prompted and log on again.
  • After the system restarts go on to step 2 below.

STEP 2. DELETE JUNK FILES /RESIDUES.
To completely remove the program and all its residues,
  • Go to “THIS PC” icon in windows 10 or “My Computer” in windows 7.
  • Open disk drive “C” or the drive that contains your windows programs.
  • Look for “program files” folder and open it.
  • In this folder you will find that the program name of the program/ software you just uninstalled still exists here.
  • All you have to do is right click on it, press and hold down the “shift key” on your keyboard and the click on delete. Shift key plus delete is the shortcut for deleting something permanently without saving it to the recycle bin.

  • This will permanently delete that program from your system and the next time you wish to install it the system will detect it as a brand new installation.
  • If you do not find your residue files in the “program files” folder click back and select “program files (x86)” or “program files (x64) depending on the bits of your operating system or windows.
  • Do the same thing. Locate residue name > shift key + Delete. Then restart your computer one last time and you’re good to go.
